Sébastien Tellier to represent France / Sébastien Tellier representará a França
After weeks of suspense and rumours, France made up its mind for Belgrade; Sébastien Tellier will represent the country with a song titled Divine, French delegation head Bruno Berberes informed Eurovision.tv.
The song is taken from the latest album of the man, titled Sexuality, which was produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem Christo, one half of famous French duet Daft Punk.
Despite Sébastien Tellier remains unknown from a large audience, the specialists consided him to be an established master of the 'French touch', as he has already published three albums and several film soundtracks. The latest release took place on the 25th of February, and has already ranked first on iTunes France.
Tellier is currently touring France and Europe. Two weeks ago, he showed up in London and he will soon be performing in Switzerland. The next stop is Milano in April, to move forward to Norway, Sweden and the Netherlands in May. A few dates had to be cancelled though, due to his surprise participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. The day after the Final, Tellier will perform in Istanbul.
Bruno Berberes, French Head of Delegation, said: "We deeply believe in this entry and, would this choice confuse French ballads lovers, it will help with a giving the contest a new lease of life in France"
The original version of the song Divine, which is on the album and on Sébastien Tellier's MySpace page, is in English, but for the Eurovision Song Contest an English-French version will be recorded
Após semanas de suspense e rumores, França deu sua devida atenção à Belgrado: Sébastien Tellier representará o país com a música 'Divne', segundo informações de Bruno Berberes à Eurovision.tv, responsável pela delegação francesa.
A música foi retirada do último cd, entitulado 'Sexuality', que foi produzido por Guy-Manuel de Homem Christo, que é a um dos integrantes do famoso dueto francês Daft Punk.
Sébastien Tellier é desconhecido da grande audiência, porém especialistas o consideram o mestre do 'French Touch', já que produziu três discos e muitas trilhas de filmes. Seu último lançamento foi em 25 de fevereiro, alcançando rapidamente as primeiras posições do iTunes francês.
Tellier se encontra em turnê pela França e Europa. Duas semanas atrás, ele se apresentou em Londrês, e estará em breve na Suíça. Sua próxima parada será Milão em abril, Noruega, Suécia e Noruega em maio. Alguns compromissos serão cancelados devido sua inesperada participação no Eurovision Song COntest. Um dia após a final, ele se apresentará em Istambul.
Bruno Berberes, responsável pela delegação francesa, disse: "estamos muitos confiantes com esta escolha e, talvez cause uma certa confusão nos fãs da música romântica francesa, porém irá mostrar um novo estilo de vida em nosso país"
A versão original da música 'Divine', disponível no álbum e no site de Sébastien Tellien no MySpace, está em inglês, porém devido ao Eurovision Song Contest, será gravada uma versão em inglês/francês.
